Q - What will the changes mean to my son or daughter who is returning from active military service?
A –The new Veteran’s wing will include a dedicated and private Service Center for counseling, career mentoring, access to county and federal programs for Veterans, and a permanent library. It will also include exhibit space for historic military artifacts.

Q- Will there be a new center for our seniors in this facility?
A – Yes, recreation, social and fitness programs for Senior Citizens encourage networking, good health and independence. The new facility will provide an ideal home for these ongoing programs, in the heart of downtown Danville, with readily available public transportation. The facility will provide recreation, health and wellness programs for seniors. social Interaction through bridge, crafts and other daily programs; individualized private health screening; technology assistance and classes;educational lectures and cooking demonstrations to name a few.

Q - Will the new Building have a larger Community Hall? If so, how will the area be defined to provide more space for seniors, community and veterans?
A - Yes, 25% larger plus adjoining promenade. In addition, the Hall will include partitions to divide the space into 3 separate rooms, allowing multiple activities at the same time. The project will also provide initial funding for the establishment of a Veterans Endowment Fund.

Q- Will there be new services for our Veterans?
A - Yes, a permanent library for military research and family histories for use by the entire community counselors for career mentoring for returning veterans and will feature - Exhibit alcoves for permanent and revolving veteran exhibits, art and photographs. A Veterans Resource Center will faciltate access to federal and county programs; as well as a location for our Blue Star Moms.

Q - How is the money I donate going to be used?
A – Your donation will be used for the building restoration and expansion, for a Veteran’s Endowment Fund, as well as provide new furnishings for the Veteran’s wing and planning and administration.

Q – What happens to the money collected over and above the initial goal?
A – The money will go to an Endowment Fund that will be used for furnishings and to build and maintain a fresh and up-to-date Resource Center for Veterans.

Q – Can I make a donation in “Honor of” or in “Memory of” someone, such as a grandparent, mother, father, son, friend?
A – Absolutely! The Development Committee has specifically designed “Naming Opportunities” at several levels of giving so that your contribution will be honored, today, tomorrow, forever!

A – Yes, the Veterans Memorial Building Development Committee of San Ramon Valley is a 501 (c )3 qualified organization able to receive your tax deductible donations.
