Tony Carnemolla
April 11, 1935 – December 23, 2009
On December 23, 2009, Tony Carnemolla, President of The Veterans Memorial Building Development Committee of San Ramon Valley passed away.
While we are saddened by the loss of our close friend and the President of our organization, we also celebrate the life of Tony Carnemolla. While we miss the friendly way Tony entered the room, we also stand strong in our commitment to restoring the Veterans Memorial Building that Tony loved.
Tony will be remembered as a veteran of the Korean War who went on to become a mover and shaker in veterans activities, including the extensive remodeling of the Veterans Memorial Building, welcoming soldiers home for the holidays, memorial ceremonies, and the annual lighting of the beacon atop Mt. Diablo in honor and recognition of the Pearl Harbor Survivors. He opened Dad's Locksmith in Danville, and was a respected member of the community. Tony founded the Downtown Merchants Association and Hot Summer Nights, and brought the Special Olympics to Danville.
Most of all, Tony will always be remembered as a family man, the husband of his lovely wife Mary, the father of six, grandfather of eight, and great-grandfather of two.
